Al Sproul Award
The Al Sproul award is given to an individual that has made an outstanding contribution to Londonderry Lacrosse. This person has had a positive impact on the Londonderry Youth Lacrosse Association, the youth in this organization, as well as the community as a whole. This award is given based on merit and is not necessarily given annually. A person can be nominated by the board of officers or by a letter sent to the P.O. Box. (Please include why you think this person is deserving of the award in your letter.) There must be a vote by the board to approve the nominee. The award is given out at the Annual Silent Auction or the end of the year Banquet. Nominations must be received at least 2 weeks before those events.
The namesake of this award was a driving force in the development of Londonderry Youth Lacrosse Association. He helped promote the growth of the organization. He sat on the local lacrosse board as well as the state board. He still donates to the organization and consults when asked. The Al Sproul award was started in 2005 to acknowledge Coach Al for his overwhelming contributions to Londonderry Youth Lacrosse and to honor others that stand out in their dedication to the Londonderry Youth Lacrosse Association.
